Blinded by Vodka but Saved by Whiskey?

Is homeopathy at it again? In this fascinating story a man was suddenly blinded by drinking vodka and was only saved when doctors started feeding him whiskey. Hmmm – can anyone else see a “like treats like” association?

The reported explanation was that the vodka reacted with his diabetes medication (hmmm, again) but we wonder if the problem may have come from aspartame, a common artificial sweetener that many diabetics use, or from vodka prepared with methanol rather than ethanol which, though the two are very similar, have different toxic effects?

To discover the homeopathy in this instance, read: Blinded by Vodka but Saved by Whiskey
