FoodFit Testimony – A Case of Eczema

Jack was about 1 month old when I realized his baby acne had turned into eczema. He also cried a lot at night and struggled to pass wind. I knew his tummy wasn’t happy. I was already dairy, gluten, and egg free, and we were on probiotics, so I was stumped! I went garlic and onion free next to see if that would help, but his poor little cheeks were still so red, inflamed, and starting to crack from the dryness. Creams would soothe them, but nothing would heal it, and I felt like I was living off of fresh air. As a breastfeeding mum, that was not going to be sustainable!
It was suggested that I do a FoodFit hair analysis test to see what else could be causing inflammation and be at the root of our eczema issues. The test results were eye-opening! I was right to give up dairy, eggs, and onion, but there were a lot of foods that I had been eating that I never would have linked to his eczema and tummy issues, such as broccoli, capsicum, and even pineapple. There were also a lot of foods that I could add back in, like lactose-free cheese and butter. The test didn’t just run through food either; it mentioned other things like clothes detergent we should stay away from, cleaning products, and much more.
I immediately went onto the FoodFit plan, and by about week 4, his eczema had cleared up, and his tummy problems were so much better. I stuck to it for 8 months, and during that time, his skin flared up once when he was sick but settled down as soon as the virus passed and also flared up when my mother-in-law kissed his cheeks after eating shellfish, which was one of his red foods! Apart from that, you never would have known that he had eczema.
It was then recommended to do a follow-up test to see how he was progressing. We could now eat broccoli, capsicum, pineapple, onion, and organic eggs! I was beyond pleased that I could add eggs back into my diet, even if I had to fork out for the organic ones. There were also some new foods I couldn’t eat that I could eat before, like avocado. I was told that this was normal, and they were probably just on the edge of the black/red line at the time of the first test and, during the 8 months, had been pushed into the red zone.
My plan is to stick with the FoodFit plan until Jack is 2 years old. By then, I’m hopeful his body will have been able to heal completely and can go on eating all the nutritious foods with no more eczema. I wish I had known about FoodFit with my 1st baby, who was very colicky, and my 2nd, who also had eczema from a baby. But as the saying goes, you grow with each child!
