Homeopathy sickle-cell anaemia research centre for Sambalpur

Sicklecelldisease_zps232a15f4What is sickle-cell disease or anaemia? It is a genetic disorder in which a mutation in the haemoglobin gene produces abnormally rigid red blood cells with a sickle shape. Untreated, average life expectancy for those with the disorder is 40 – 50 years of age.

“Sickle-cell anaemia cases keep pouring in from western part of the state. After repeated demand for a research unit, we decided to have a modern facility in Sambalpur,” said director general, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Dr R K Manchanda.
