Description
With-s.
Simplexes are available as 100 sweet sucrose pills per vial (lactose and gluten free), or liquid remedies – 120 doses per bottle, mild-tasting water/ethanol mix.
Dosage Instructions (suitable for babies to adults)
Take one pill or five drops of the remedy every 15 minutes to 4 hours (15 minutes for intense symptoms, 4 hours for milder ones). Once an improvement is noticed, stop dosing and repeat the remedy only if symptoms return. If there is no improvement at all by three doses, choose a different remedy or seek professional guidance.
What potency do I need?
The following guidelines apply to home-prescribing for simple, self-limiting complaints.
- Low Potencies: 6C and below
- Medium Potencies: 30C and 200C
- High Potencies: M and above
- Lower potencies such as 6C cover a wide range of symptoms, so are ideal if you are not certain that you have chosen the best remedy for your symptoms.
Higher potencies need to match symptoms more precisely if a curative response is to be triggered.
The higher the potency, the longer the effect. A 6C potency may need to be repeated every 1 – 2 hours for a period to improve symptoms while an M potency may only have to be given once.
Medium potencies such as 30C are a good choice for home prescribers who have some familiarity with homeopathy. They may be given every 2 – 4 hours until symptoms are relieved, and then only repeated if symptoms return. Improvement should be noticed by 1 – 3 doses if the correct remedy has been selected.
Our remedies are available in both liquid and pill forms, and in a range of potencies. Our pill remedies (100+ pills/doses per glass vial) have a sucrose (sugar) base, and our liquid remedies (120 doses in a glass dropper-top bottle) are made with 10% ethanol.
How Often to Dose
The following instructions are suitable for the home-treatment of acute (short-lived) problems rather than chronic conditions. One dose equals one pill or pellet, or ¼ dropper (5-7 drops) of liquid, taken by mouth. It’s not necessary for the remedy to be placed under the tongue or to be swallowed.
For the homeopathic management of chronic conditions please consult a homeopathic practitioner as changes in remedies, doses, and frequency of repetitions may be needed during a course of treatment.

Minor Conditions (for which you would probably not seek professional help.)
Examples: A mildly sprained ankle, or a nuisance-value sore throat.
Dose: Every 4 hours until symptoms start to improve. With improvement space the doses further apart taking a dose when symptoms start to return. If there is no improvement at all by 3 doses (after 12 hours) choose a more suitable remedy or contact your homeopath.
Troubling Conditions (for which you might seek professional help.)
Examples: A painful and swollen sprained ankle that can tolerate some weight, or a troublesome sore throat.
Dose: Every 2 hours until symptoms start to improve. With improvement space the doses further apart, taking a dose when symptoms return. If there is no improvement at all by 3 doses (after 6 hours) choose a more suitable remedy or contact your homeopath.
Serious Conditions (for which you would seek professional help.)
Examples: A painful and swollen ankle that you cannot place any weight on at all, or a sore and red throat that makes eating or drinking difficult.
Dose: Every ½ hour until symptoms start to improve. With improvement space the doses further apart, taking a dose when symptoms return. If there is no improvement at all by 3 doses (after 1 1/2 hours) choose a more suitable remedy or contact your homeopath.
Emergency Situations (Conditions for which you would phone urgently for an ambulance.)
Examples: An obviously broken ankle where the bone has pierced the skin and the person is in severe pain or shock, or a painful, swollen throat that is leading to suffocation.
Dose: Every 15 seconds to a minute while waiting for the ambulance. If the remedy is correct there should be a rapid improvement in symptoms. With improvement space the doses further apart. If there is no improvement at all by 3 – 6 doses (after 1 – 2 minutes), change to another remedy.
Aggravations
An aggravation is a temporary intensification of symptoms after taking a dose of the remedy. Stop dosing at this point.
Once the aggravation settles improvement should follow if the remedy was correct for the symptoms.
Once this happens, repeat the remedy only when this improvement stalls or symptoms start to return.
If the aggravation settles but without any following improvement, the remedy choice was likely incorrect.
Review the symptoms and choose a better-matching remedy.
