Health board to stop sending patients to homeopathic hospital

The Herald Scotland reports that Scotland’s only homeopathic hospital is still under threat; NHS Lanarkshire will stop sending referrals to the hospital next year in spite of overwhelming support and demand for its services from patients.

In a recent survey on community wishes, over half (50.7 per cent) of health professionals opted for referrals to continue, compared with 96.1 per cent of replies on behalf of people who use the service. The Health Board, ignoring patient experiences entirely, said there was a lack of evidence of homeopathic effectiveness and will stop referrals from April next year.
